Description:
1. Audio - Sound for Visual
Choose or record sound clips to be used to create sound effects to bring a video clip to live. The clips will be provided. Students are required to identify the visual components from the video clip that needs sound.

2. Audio – Sound Shaping
Students will be given a choice of scenarios and they have to pick one and create the soundscape for the chosen scenario.  Requirements High quality sound files from freesound.org.  No voice, narration, dialogue. Recorded sound clips using portable recorder or handphones

Submission:
The student must document the above progression in their e-portfolio.

Learning Goals:
Technical and Digital Media Competencies – Demonstrate creative use of software, and effective use of digital media skills to promote or communicate design concepts or solutions.

For the first task, I downloaded the 35 seconds clip for audio dubbing then by repeatedly watching the original video clip to identify all the visual elements needing sound. I made a detailed list of these elements and determined the appropriate sounds effects for each and listed down in the spreadsheet.

Using my phone, I recorded my voice over and downloaded various sounds effects like footsteps and ambient noises. Then used Adobe Premiere Pro to trim, adjust, and synchronize these sounds with the video to ensure they matched perfectly.

After completing the initial voice-over, Mr. Martin guided us to switch the layout to audio instead of assembly, allowing for detailed editing of audio elements.

To ensure optimal sound quality and balance, I utilized the audio control track to meticulously adjust the volume levels of each audio element. This process involved fine-tuning the volume to ensure that all sounds were clear and appropriately balanced within the overall mix.

By carefully manipulating the audio control track, I was able to enhance the clarity of dialogue, emphasize key sound effects, and maintain a consistent audio level throughout the project.started by trimming the recordings to remove any draft sounds, then imported them into the audio track.

I also adjusted the fade-in and fade-out for smoother transitions and altered the pitch where necessary, such as changing my initial female voice to a male voice to suits more like (Waymond). Also higher the pitch to sounds like Dierdre.

For this exercise, we were asked to install Adobe Audition.
We need to record our voice for 5 seconds and then edit it in Adobe Audition. Step-by-step workflow in Adobe Audition is provided.

For the sound we need to make 5 types.
1. Voice of phone call.
2. Voice coming from inside of closet.
3. Voice of toilet/bathroom.
4. Underground cave.
5. Alien/ Orc voice.

First, I record my voice " Hey there, how is it going? Hope your holiday are well spent!" with my phone first and then import it to my laptop.

Sound Shaping Drive:

I have created new multitrack and apply Reverb Effect and muffle sound usually by wrapping it with something.

Experience
During this project, I explored audio design by creating sound effects for a visual clip and shaping a soundscape for one of Everything, Everwhere All at Once  35 seconds scene. I referred back to the original movie and recorded sound clips to enhance the provided video, ensuring each sound matched the characters and sound elements.I thoroughly enjoyed the creative process and found it very fulfilling as I get to learnt a lot of useful features in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Observation
I observed the significant impact that sound effect and background musics has on visual media. Identifying visual components needing sound and selecting appropriate audio clips brought the video to life, making it more engaging and realistic. Creating a soundscape required understanding how different sounds interact to evoke specific emotions and atmospheres. The absence of dialogue emphasized the importance of environmental sounds in storytelling.

Findings
This project highlighted the technical and digital media skills essential for effective audio design. Using Premiere Pro creatively and employing digital media skills were crucial in synchronizing sound clips with visuals. Recording sound clips with portable recorders or handphones showed the importance of capturing high-fidelity audio. Overall, I am very happy with how this project enhanced my ability to communicate design concepts through sound, showcasing the transformative power of well-executed audio in visual media.
