⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ Reflection ˚୨୧⋆ ˚。⋆

Experience:
Personally, I find this the most challenging module in Semester 2, as it demands significant thought and time to complete the projects. Despite its difficulty, it is also the most rewarding module because I can see my hard work reflected in the designs and it also actually reflected my identity too. I particularly enjoyed the "Type and Play" task, which involved extracting letters from a picture and refining them with a current font to create a new one. This task was a blend of creativity and observation skill, pushing me to explore more of the surrounding then relate It to typography and think outside the box and experiment with different techniques. For Project 2, which involved creating key artwork, I am very satisfy to develop a brand identity for myself, the iterative design process was very enriching. This project required me to delve deep into self-reflection and understand my own interest and brand, which was both challenging and enlightening. The final project, creating a complete typeface, required meticulous planning and attention to detail to ensure font consistency. Each step of the way, I had to ensure that every letter was not only well-designed individually but also worked harmoniously with the others. Overall, the projects were more demanding compared to Typography, which is why it's called Advanced Typography. The complexity and depth of these projects taught me the importance of patience, perseverance, and a keen eye for detail.

Observation
Throughout this module, I observed that typography is ubiquitous, surrounding us everywhere. As designers, we must be highly perceptive and sensitive to the subtleties of design. This heightened sensory awareness allows us to touch, feel, think, and relate to the designs we create. Each designer has their own unique style, and it is crucial to discover our own identity to produce distinctive work from others , avoid from following trends. While design is a form of art, it differs from abstract art in that it must correlate to the target audience and be relatable. Typography, in particular, must maintain consistency and coherence while resonating with the audience. This realization reinforced the importance of having a clear vision and being confident in my design choices. To address my tendency towards indecisiveness, I began implementing a more structured approach to brainstorming and ideation. By setting clear criteria for evaluating ideas and sticking to them, I was able to narrow down my options more efficiently and commit to a direction sooner. This structured approach, combined with a deeper understanding of my own design identity, allowed me to progress more confidently and effectively.

Findings
Throughout this module, I found several ways to improve my design process. Implementing a more structured approach to brainstorming, with clear criteria for evaluating ideas, helped mitigate these effects and streamline my workflow. Seeking early feedback from peers and instructors provided valuable insights and increased my confidence in decision-making. Engaging in discussions with my peers often revealed perspectives and ideas I hadn't considered, enriching my designs and broadening my understanding of typography. The iterative nature of tasks like "Type and Play" and developing key artwork underscored the importance of iteration in design. These tasks taught me that refining and revising designs is crucial for achieving high-quality outcomes. Each iteration brought me closer to a polished final product and deepened my understanding of the design elements involved. These experiences facilitated significant personal and professional growth, enhancing my typography skills, decisiveness, time management, and ability to integrate feedback. Ultimately, these improvements not only elevated the quality of my designs but also refined my overall design process, making me a more efficient and confident designer. This journey has been transformative, equipping me with valuable skills and insights that will benefit my future endeavors in typography and beyond.
