- SCALE & HIERARCHY
- help communicate hierarchy by drawing attention toward and away from certain elements
- BALANCE THE ELEMENTS
- asymmetrical balance the elements by "weighing" the objects
- WHITE SPACE
- “empty space” to balance up the main focus
- boost design’s clarity by balancing out complicated and busy parts
- helps design to breathe
2.Rule of Thirds :
- the process of dividing an image into thirds, using two horizontal and two vertical lines. This imaginary grid yields nine parts with four intersection points.
- Use composition techniques that are in line with what’s naturally pleasing to the eye.
- Creatively use negative space
- Create conversation between the subject and background.
- creating and appreciating a sense of beauty through harmony and proportion
- useful guideline for determining dimensions of the layout

PRACTICAL
Collage Design Elements
To initiate the creative process, I started on a resourceful journey by gathering a myriad of visuals and collage materials sourced from a diverse array of recycled items, which included magazines, Uni Qlo catalogs, old newspapers, and novels. Before I delved into a phase of extensive cutting and curating, I conducted some research thereby helping me to establish a compelling concept for my college project. As a result of this exploration, I found myself drawn to two distinctive themes: one revolving around beauty, and the other centered on the delightful world of bubble milk tea.
With the concepts in mind, I meticulously selected and cut out pertinent images, assembling them into a visually stimulating collage. The process of pre-composing these design elements into a harmonious composition was a crucial step in ensuring that our artistic vision was fully realized.
Subsequently, I utilized a web scanner to capture the intricacies of our carefully crafted collage. This technological step allowed us to digitize our analog creation, preserving the details and nuances of the artwork for further refinement and sharing.

Upon receiving Mr. Fauzi's insightful feedback, it became evident that he held a particular fascination for my first collage concept, primarily because of its profound and meaningful expression of the key secrets behind beauty. This collage features a dynamic interplay of elements, incorporating images of Barbie doll portraits, a blend of black-and-white and vibrant colors, a key, a make-up pallet even the inclusion of butterflies.
In the initial iteration, I had positioned the Big Ben London Tower alongside these components, intending to convey an aesthetic connection. However, Mr. Hafiz, in his wisdom, suggested should infuse beauty-related elements into the collage, thereby establishing a more cohesive relationship with the overarching theme. Consequently, I decided to incorporate a palette of makeup eyeshadow colors, seamlessly intertwining the concept of beauty and its secrets within the composition.
